  • Uploading Videos to your eVideoShare account
eVideoShare provides you with multiple ways of uploading videos -
    1. eMail upload (will work for video clips smaller than 3MB) - you can eMail video clips directly into your eVideoShare account. Send video clips from your PC, Mobile Phones or PDAs as attachment to your eMails.
    2. Web upload - you can login to your eVideoShare account online and easily upload videos to your account using the web upload capability. Its a no hassle way of quickly uploading and sharing your videos.
    3. The eVideoShare Client (recommended for large videos) is a smart java program which allows you to upload multiple videos at the same time in the background from your PC. It takes care of uploading each file to your eVideoShare account on the website automatically regardless of the internet speed you have (broadband vs dialup, etc.) or even you turning your machine off and then back on. The client keeps track of where it left off and continues the uploading from that point onwards. The client program also automatically scans your video and provides you a series of frames from your video to be selected as the Thumbnail (image) of your video.
While uploading the videos using any of the methods above, you can provide a Title and Description for the video that will be displayed when your video is played. You can also specifically choose a Thumbnail (image) for your video.

  • Video Tags
While uploading their videos, users can provide Tags associated with each video. Tags are a way to categorize videos. Each video can have any number of tags. These Tags then show up along with the videos. Tags are a great way for browsing similar videos. E.g. If your video is about an island vacation, you could provide travel and beach as the tags. When someone is browsing/playing a video with either of these tags, by simply clicking on one of the tags (lets say beach), the user can see all videos which have beach as a tag.

  • Private and Public videos
eVideoShare allows you to mark your videos as either Private or Public. If you make it private, only you as the publisher of the video can share it using email with your friends and family. This video will not be made available publicly on the the eVideoShare site. If you make it public, then the video will be available for search and playing to anyone who comes to the eVideoShare website. To embed videos in blogs, you will need to make the video public.

  • Sharing of uploaded videos
Once a video is uploaded, you can share it either from the eVideoShare client or login to the website and share it from there. Sharing is all handled by eVideoShare. You just need to provide the name and email-id of the person you want to share the video with. The sharing email carries a small image of your video and the url link that will allow people to click on it and play the video instantaneously.

  • Linking your videos in Blogs, Webpages, Groups, auction sites, ...
Once a video is uploaded (as public video), you can link to them by embedding a small text and image of the same. This is done by copying a small piece of code for that specific video from the eVideoShare website and pasting it into your Blogging tool, webpage, auction page, groups page, ...
Your video link will look like a small thumbnail as shown below:

  • Comments associated with a video
eVideoShare makes it intersting to share and play videos. Once you share a video, users can add their comments to a particular video. These comments can be made visible to everyone with whom the video is shared with. This makes it very interactive and fun.

  • Searching of videos
Users can search for videos on the eVideoShare site. Based on their credentials (registered user or someone just browsing the site), the search will intelligently scan through only those videos that the particular user has access to and display the results (public videos are available for searching to everyone). eVideoShare scans through the video publisher information, title, description, tags and comments while searching for matching videos. E.g. Show me all videos published by publishers named "Joe" or Show me all videos which have something to do with "Soccer"

  • Your personal video library
As you start using eVideoShare, over a period of time, you will start collecting all your videos in your eVideoShare account (sort of your "online shoebox"). You really are creating your own library of videos which is completely searchable and shareable. No more will you scramble to find old videos in some cassettes or dvds. All your videos will be available to you instanteously on eVideoShare.

  • Content Rating Filters
eVideoShare provides 3 different Content Rating Filters - General Audience, Restricted Viewing and Adult Viewing. Based on your specific situation (e.g. someone playing videos in a family environment), you can choose the appropriate Content Rating Filter and only play videos that they are interested in. The default Filter is set to General Audience. Users can modify this setting as required.
